NE PORTLAND HOMES

"We hired Heidi to sell our home in a time when houses could sit on the market for months....we sold our house in 22 hours at more than our asking price." ~Justin

Northeast Portland covers a large area stretching from the Willamette River east and from Burnside Street north. Some of the oldest homes in Portland are found in this area along tree lined streets that give easy access to city parks. Alameda ridge provides stunning views of Portland and the West hills. Many of these old Northeast Portland homes for sale have been refurbished and many are being restored to their original appeal, with artistic detail. Several grand old homes are on the National Register of Historic Places. Some of the sidewalks are imprinted with the homes craftsman’s name and date, and the metal rings attached to the curb are from the days when everyone had horses. It is charmingly set-apart from the busy streets of Portland’s city center.

Alberta Street and Mississippi Avenue are Thriving Areas

The Northeast area is full of mini-neighborhoods and attractions that make this area worth a look. In the uncharacteristic shops of Northeast Portland you can find handmade designer clothing, paper mache lamps, imported gifts from afar, fine local art work, and an exclusive gourmet salt shop. Alberta Street and Mississippi Avenue are thriving areas with distinctive restaurants, shops, and art galleries. Each holds a street fair every year with live music, arts and crafts, food, and family activities.

Many Unique Districts include Lloyd, Hollywood and the Rose Quarter

Alberta Street has a last Thursday art walk welcoming people into the neighborhood to celebrate art. The Lloyd district is home to the Lloyd Center shopping mall one of the first shopping malls in the country. The Hollywood Theater is a wonderful old theater that was built in the 1920’s and gives the district its name. The Rose Quarter is a complex of buildings for professional sports, and large venue entertainment. The Oregon Convention Center holds shows and conventions that bring in people from all over the world to Northeast Portland.
